We have 3 x 2008 7/8th gyr x saker females and 1 male for sale, these falcons were being kept for breeding but having new falcons coming from “Ash long wings”, we now need the space.
All 4 birds are paired up at the moment, all are untouched and have had 2 months in our hack pen.

Hi Greg, the 2 lighter females and the male are full sisters an brother to your's.
Not sure what the weight would be, I imagine they would be in the 2ld 14oz - 3ld mark.

Why would anyone even think of flying one of these birds on a land fill?

Flying Gulls on open fields or Landfill dos it matter, the flight is the same passing Gulls make great flights just because its work don't mean you can't have fun.

These are stunning Falcons, but why draw out this thread, why not just put up a price and let people decide if they want one or can afford one. Sorry but I find it really frustrating when people post something for sale but don't include a price. The only justification for not puttin a price on something is that it will change due to who is asking. You can't advertise something in your local paper without a price. I personally think it should be a rule of the forum that all for sale posts should have a price. Its not just this thread that has sparked this rant, there have been loads lately, I have asked a few people via Pm who much they want for various items and have had no reply. only to find several people asking on the thread. I just can't see the point.

Hi Simon, do not make assumptions about our motives, I did not include a price because anyone who is genuinely interested will contact me for all the information required. This stops a lot of time wasters.
There have been many enquired so far and all have been answered, all given the same information including asking price, this does not vary depending on who’s enquiring.

Chris I wasn't doubting your motives I was speaking in general terms, so appologies if you took that the wrong way. We get a lot of problems with for sale threads, and have to spend a lot of time cleaning them up. I have often suggested to people that when they post in the for sale section, that they should perhaps close their own thread so it doesn't get cluttered with loads of posts. obviously this is up to the individual.
For what its worth, I think sale threads without a price are a bit of a double edged sword. and can generate a lot of requests via PM from people who just want to know the price and have no intention of buying, and from people who want to buy but then find that they can't afford to. I stand by what I said and believe that a price on the thread is important. :yawinkle:

Hi Simon, no problem. I always think that it is up to the buyer to divulge what he or she paid for a falcon, if that’s what they wish. Some don’t want it to be general knowledge, suffice to say we leave it to the customer.

Maybe i am hijacking this thread - but this seems a good place for a comment.
Chris - for what its worth i agree with you on this point. The price is a matter for the buyer and the seller alone - i am also aware that there are good business reasons for not broadcasting prices.
On a more general note - not having prices next to each bird helps (in a small way) to stop people putting monetary value on each and every bird.

Landfills are generally dangerous places to fly, 7/8th gyr/saker are going to be quite expensive, wouldnt it make sence to fly a falcon that dosnt cost as much, greg is making the point , and so was i, its a lot of falcon to fly on a landfill , thats it , make of it as you will, not trying to upset anyone, if i have offended you, then i am sorry, its an open forum, its my observation, mark.

I flew a Male 3/4 Gyr/Saker on Gulls on a Landfill,he learned is trade there I also used him on open fields on the ground I fly on.
A bird can be killed by over head wires , barbed wire. gatepost, I've sen birds hit by trains when chasing rook, you two should know theres many ways a good bird can be killed ,it don't have to be a Gyr/Saker a good peregrine female can be just as intent on her quarry and miscalculate what she is doing many people fly these on Landfills and they cost £1000+.
what ever the cost You take a risk every time you let your bird go, and if some one as payed £100 for is bird and he flys and enjoys it and thats what he wanted he would still fill bad if it gets killed be it on a Landfill or on the biggest moor in Scotland.
Cost is not the be all and end all, the cost of any bird is only the value some one is willing to pay if you have money you can pay more, cost should not be a restraint on flying.
Cheers

I fill I may have took the thread away from Chris and Bryn birds for sale and thats not fair on them or the birds, they looked great, I have ordered a bird for the coming season before they went up for sale, not a Gyr cross, I hope they should be gone by now and they will be flown this year they did look good and we may well here how they went on.
Cheers
