Hello,

I am wondering whether there are falconers who just take their falcon with them on a motorbike for hunting or else. Just wondering whether this might be possible by creating some box that can be transported on the motorbike. I can imagine the bird will not have any harm when transported in a box but do not know whether some box could be attached on a motorbike and if anyone ever tried or did this.

I would be interested in people who did or do or know people who do/did so with boths small and bigger birds of prey and whether this is OK?????

Hello!

So thank you, hawk master, for mentioning the post where the same subject as here was discussed a bit. But, I would be interested to know still about whether there are more falconers familiar with doing so and then by putting some box somewhere on the motorbike.

Actually to me on the one side it sounds little bit strange transporting a falcon or so on a motorbike in a box but on the other hand I can not think of any disadvantage as long as you do not have a crash.

Maybe there are some other thoughts about this here.

Can't you ride one handed? I used to cycle up to 5 miles with a harris or sparrow hawk on the fist(unhooded). Bit easier on a push bike.

Cants see why a standard hawk box wouldn't do the job. Make sure the air vents aren't taking in forced air and blasting the hawk. Also careful of any turbulence whipping exhaust fumes into the box.

Having a gos as a pillion could bring out PC PLod just as having a hawk loose in the car can bring a prosecution.

i know a guy who made a trailer that fitted to the back of his motor bike, he transported his lercher this way for years, should be able to do the same for a hawk.

Hi Bill,
Cause I'm not too old to learn, is that right about the bit in your post above.
That having a hawk loose in a car can bring about a prosecution!
Albie..
