Ok, I have a question that I've been trying to find out for awhile. It might be stupid but I haven't heard any confirmed info on it. Dose anyone know if falconry is practiced in Iceland? I know that the Gyr is the national bird and they are highly protected. I also know that there are peregrines and merlins there aswell. I've been stationed there a couple of times up to 6months and hope to go again. It just looks perfect for flying falcons and it's hard to belive that know one does it there.
Hey if you don't get enough info let me know through an email or PM, I have a friend that has done Gyr reserch there a number of times. He is a very experinced faloner and raptor resercher who would know the info himself or know how to get the info you need.

There are several countries in which falconry is banned for either biological and/or political reasons. All of Scandinavia, including Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden, has banned falconry. In each of these areas, falconry clubs exist but only to serve a political and social function as birds designated for falconry purposes cannot be kept in captivity
What a set of Wan*ers!!!

Not only that BB, it cost about £8 for half a guiness. Imagine that!!! If they can do that to Guiness what chance has a Gyr!!! :)
