flew the bird as usual at 11am,she climbed up above the clouds & i waited 10-15 minutes as i do then blew the whistle & thrown down the lure ....but nothing happened. Normally she comes through the cloud like a missile so out with the tracker & a feint beep could be heard which told me she was a good distance away. Got in the vehicle & been in it ever since with no luck-the last signal i got was 20 miles from Banbury & it seemed as though she was heading in a northerly direction towards Griffs country so do us a favour mate & get your reciever out please. Im on 173 mate, also anybody else in the midlands area any help would be appreciated.
Anyway must get back out there
Cheers

Hello Paul,
Exactly what 173 frequency - it might help if you can state the exact frequency as difference systems number the channels differently.
Jim.

Hi ....still got the signal....it seems to have moved location....but its still there and faint. I cant be 100% as its a tick tick and not a definate pulse :(
I am just outside of Loughborough (Mountsorrel) looking towards Leicester city....if you look at the map...it will give you an idea of the "Arc of direction"
Hope she turns up :(

been tracking her for the last two days but im only able to get a signal when she is flying as i think the batteries are slowly fading. Each time i get the beeps she is a good way ahead of me so no sightings as of yet but hopefully i will catch up with her before the weekend.

where abouts are you getting the signal Paul? Is she up my way?
BFC 007
23-06-2005, 10:13 PM
she is near buckingham, tracked her today for half an hour before the signal went again,im getting the signal in the same area each day but she is on the move & takes the same flight pattern all the time. Tomorrow i shall call her where i normally get the signal then drive like a nutter to where the signal disappears so hopefully i can cut her off & get her back-thats the theory anyway.Still no signal at night though.

no luck, spoke to a farmer today who see a buzzard & what looked like a falcon dogfighting above his yard roughly the same time as my bird went.
He also said he could hear bells on one of them so it seems thats why she went off track.

BFC 007& GriffMJ, this is driving me nuts as I cant help, ( away from home at the mo;o(( )
however I have had staff on high points over P' borough etc but no joy. I know it sounds stupid( sorry to tell you to suck eggs) but have you tried normal channels , ie rescue centres/ IBR, Police, /WLO,local radio/ TV defra/ doe, press. local farmers etc, local & distant field craft etc, anyone you can think is helpful. I know I am probably being as bit of a twerp but hopefully this will help
I dont mean to upset anyone, just trying to help

Paul, any news mate. :?:

Did you consider getting into a plain and fly over the area? It is supposed to be a good way to find them. exp as your signal gets weaker.
I hope you find her!

tracked her this afternoon for 2hrs but could not get a sighting as she was always a couple of miles ahead of me all the time.Continued until i lost the signal then went back out tonight & covered a huge area roughly where signal went but no luck. First signal i got was in the same place as last week but she goes on a mission & covers a lot of ground in minutes, going to keep trying what i have been doing & hopefully she might land in a tree & hopefully get a sighting. At least the batteries seem to be ok-10 days now & still giving a good bleep & by the looks of things the bird has been killing otherwise she would be dead by now. Keep you all informed.
Cheers

By some small chance is she kite trained?
What about ringing some people when you get a signal to assist you, so the attack is from a few angles?

I am picking up something on Channel 1 Tune 9 on my MN10 216mhz, can any one in the Midlands with the same try their receiver. I am getting a good kick on the bar on a 3/4 "gain" !?

ive noticed that electric fences in the distance give the signal a good kick but without the bleep.
SJ- i see some gliders up today just north of oxford so thats my next step by the look of things.
Been out today in the same area but no signal & the wind was blowing pretty harsh where i was so she may have gone further afield.
