I fly a F RT and she is pretty good. Pretty quick off the fist and if they hit the bunny its end of story.

If she has a few flights and misses though she starts to show a bit of interest in the ferret, despite using white ferrets and her seeing them all the time at home.

I usually work her at both bolted and walked-up rabbits early in the season to help build the fitness then I fly her at hare when I get the chance - now thats exciting.

She is a very keen hunter and I don't have to fly her sharp at all, and she comes out of trees no problem. She has had a few cracking flights at bigger stuff but pulled off at the last minute, I think if I flew her sharp she would have a go.

My F RT flies at just about any weight really!!

I got her from a guy I know when she was 3 years old (now 6) and he flew her at 2lb 8oz. I now fly her at 2lb 12 mostly although with the hare hawking she's better at 2lb 10 - 2lb 11oz although to be honest I rarley weigh her I can usually just pinch her up out of interest.

I have flown and hunted at bunnies at 2lb 15.75 oz with her and she came out of a tree at that weight no problem. Flown on creance at 3lb 6 oz.

In short if its feeding time, she'll fly :!:

ps she suddenly got a bit noiser last season, started to vocalise every time I drew up in the car or came out of the house - sussed why when she laid an egg whilst tethered to the bow perch a couple of months ago.

Lets see, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v238/hazardpaintball2/P1080003z.jpg

My RT on rabbit. One of 8 taken last season. If it wasnt for game populations it would be more. For my area 20 rabbit a year with a RT is an amazing number, But I know guys on the west coast that take 150+ bunnys a year with both Male and Female RTs.

hi johnny all i do is put my ferret hutch where the red can see it day in day out or bow your red in front of your ferret hutch, will soon get used to seeing the ferret i also handle the ferret alot infront of my red tail and let the ferret run around the garden my red never bats an eyelid as a rule i dont feed the red while handling the ferret then my red will never think she can eat my ferret, for the first couple of weeks fly your red from the fist once you have enterd the ferret down the hole your bird will be abit twitchy at first wanting to nail your ferret but once your red gets to know your ferrets not food and when placed down the hole bunnies pop out your red will soon realize the ferrets part of the team and not food ,but remember your red needs to see you handling the ferret loads in front of him and will soon settle, hope this gets you started !!
