I have found sticky footedness gets better and often vanishes as time goes on, and the bird calms down and understands what is expected of it.

I agree with dave, the more she gets out the more she will learn how to do things the right way. Somtimes this can happen when you are rabbiting when you go to slip the hawk off the fist they keep hold of the glove when trying to launch them selfs thus ruining the slip hope this makes sence atb KEV.

well what i do is when i train a bird he flys to the fist as soon as he eats i just say (step on) and he positions himself on my thumb ready to go agen and he then knows. so no sticky talons its all to do with how u train your bird:supz:

Sounds like you may be feeding on the glove and not making them go after their food. They are not forgetting to release their talons. I have found that to much glove work can cause the problem as well as being underweight. Best of luck to you.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Try raising the weight a 1/4 or 1/2 ounce and it will probably stop.

Of course you are right. Most of us are trying to help people just like you. Everyone has to start somewhere. But some experienced fellers on here get a little uptight that beginers get a bird first THEN do their asking, as it is the wrong way to do it. As long as basic knowledge is aquired before a bird arrives, questions will be answered without sarcasm, never be afraid to ask though, develop a thicker skin if you have too. Its the bird we all worry about.

problem sorted her weight is to 2.4lb the other day just befor i put her into moult and took her out for a few flight one side of my field to the other for a little exersise as befor she was hunting at 2.1lb so it was the weight i guess thanks all the same for those who gave me the advice,
As for those taking the pi$$ out of people who are just starting i think they do have a piont in one way, but to now everything about them befor getting a bird is impossible i think, i think just the basics thould be revised befor getting a bird manning, trainning, nutrition etc then you will pick the rest of the information as you learn with your bird.......
