There is always an element of risk when different species are involved, the same applies with same species birds also. Provided due care is taken and you keep your wits about you it shouldn't be a problem. Most of us will fly in the company of friends with different birds at some time and also their is usually a fair mix of birds at field meets. Just make sure the bird not flying is securely attached to your glove to prevent mishap and you will be ok. Problems occur when both birds are free at the same time

The problem is Daz, if you are flying a young PR bird of the year, having a hawk of a different species may put the youngster off or even spook it. Once this has happened it may never accept another bird around and refuse to hunt.

Flying 2 birds of different species in the same field is ok once each is sucessful in its own right. Thats as long as both birds are well behaved and non agressive.

No rush mate with the book mate.

Just be careful with your bird mate. If its gone imprint it might try to nail other birds on the fist.

I would let D's bird get entered and confident before you try it or it may be ruined.

Put them out on bowpeches together for as MUCH time as you can or even better, moult them in seperate mews where they can see each other and you will be amazed at what you can achieve.
