Well it looks like a Gos to me. I haven't seen a buzzard with that sort of chest barring before.

Did you notice how the eagle owl has very sensibly put his mobile phone to one side so that it doesn't get mucky when the blood starts flying?

What a joke, the article presents all this very impressive information, very proffesional looking, but in the end if what he thinks is a goshawk is really a buzzard then everything he says in that article is "void" as it were.

i dunno what to think...oviously an EE has no chance of ctatching a gos, but if it snags it off a branch when its almost pitch black i could start to believe it. However, why would it risk doing that when there literally is an 'unlimeted RAT population'? it doesn't make sense, no way would they take them in enough numbers, those graphs make it look like goshawks are their main quarry

It is a buzzard but it has apparently been recorded previously that Goshawks are infrequently taken by EEO whilst at roost/on the nest in Germany.

Oi, who said I need glasses? Where are you.....................ouch...........
sh!t...... I just fell over me white stick and dog.

I'd still be real interested to see a picture of a buzzard with that chest barring and until I do...................it's a Gos. (and a mobile phone)

Red

yes , a buzzard !!! but eagle owls do take goshawks.

No doubt about it !!!!

We ware looking at a nest from a gos in Germany and while we ware sitting in the camouflage , we with-nest the bubo in the act .
The bubo killed the hawk on the nest .
That's even more problematic .
3 youngsters died at the same spot .

Regards
Anton.

Hey what a bunch of nancies! Why are you giving this man so much stick when he is simply stating facts?

Have you reached such a state of boredom and exceptional knowledge with this forum that nobody else is allowed to write an article without you lot ripping them to shreds.

You may care to read the following mail sent to me by the author of the website information, Dr Karl Frank................

Hi Red!

Thank you for your courteous mail. Some of your hawk people think that I hate raptors when in fact I like them as part of nature. This is the reason I published this article as there are some rednecks among pigeon fanciers also. I am disappointed that your group has some of them also. All you need to do is read some of their comments.

Goshawks eat pigeons and one can’t blame them for this any more than one can blame us for eating bread or the Eagle Owl for eating a Goshawk. What is so unfortunate about this? It would indeed be unfortunate if this Goshawk were killed by a car or a gun but being killed by an Eagle Owl is just how Mother Nature intended it. I am surprised that some of your members do not see this prey as a Goshawk.

Kind regards,

Karl

PS: Please call off the dogs as I do not need any vulgar comments by some of your members. Thank you

So, still not convinced? Maybe the disbelievers don't know as much as they thought.......just too busy trying to knock others.

Goodnight
Red
