View Full Version : North Yorkshire Meet/Club

I have talked to several North Yorkshire falconers and everyone I spoke to said they would be interested in a North Yorkshire meet or small club. If it was to be a single meet next season it would probably be around the York area, but if we set up a small club, then there could be more regular meets, maybe a few every season. This could help those who do not want to travel great distances to other regional clubs, as the meetings could move around North Yorkshire.
Most birds would be welcome, mainly harris hawks, gosses and some falcons, depending on the location.
Who else would be interested in this?

well if run succesfully, we could have a club, and the venue could move around suitable areas, accomodating for as many of us as possible.
And i'm sure there are venue's large enough for us all somewhere:lol:

Will all I would say before just jumping in...in fact anyone just jumping in...is what is being sort here?
There is no way I would throw open any of my permission land to people I have never met let alone seen hunt with a bird.
I can see sense in getting a meeting together but not in the field from the off

I was gonna say people have tried to get on mine before. It would be better to have a pub meet before. If i can get it then ill see what happens then. (Cheers Kev)

exactly. We need to get a list of those interested and then organize a meeting that isn't in the field

I think a pub meet would be a good idea, get to know a few people and see what everyone wants etc.
I don't think there are clubs or groups in the York area so would be great....plus we live like 20mins away:)

Yes Steve but the reason it is being held at the lowest point in Yorkshire was because of the listed reagions being covered

What I'm also trying to get across is the Yorkshire Region doesnt just cater for people in Yorkshire. We are the closest region for people in Derbyshire (like myself) Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire since the Midland Region closed, probably a few other counties too.
.
:twisted::twisted:
:twisted::twisted:
The reason it meets in South Yorkshire is due to the fact those that set it up live their, my post you've "dug out" is still valid, because it's true!
We can go round in circles for as long as you like Kev :lol:
