Yesterday about 5.00 in the evening Jim giles passed away from a suspected heart attack, those of you that knew him will know what a huge loss it is, i will miss his advice, help, and great sence of humour , i spoke to jim for about an hour yesterday , not knowing it would be for the last time, we made plans for this years rookhawking, and discussed moving chicks of differant ages under foster mums between us , Jim was a true character , funny, and always genourous, if you liked the look of a falcon, he would say take it and fly it, a true gentlman, mark.

I'm sorry that you've lost your friend.
As someone who has recently suffered a bereavement I know how it hurts.

Sorry to hear this sad news Mark as you know Jim and I used to be good M8's but I have not had time to see him for ages. He was a good Falconer and will certainly be missed by the Falconry Community he also bred a few good birds.

Jims funerall was today, lots of family and friends,a very nice service, lots of old stories going around, he had plenty, one of the best i heard today was the incedent with the imported prairie falcon that bated up his arm , bit it, screwed a piece of then swallowed it !!!!!, when he told you this story he would roll up his sleeve and then show you the scar, heard it many times, but never got bored with it.This season we were candling eggs, jim kept saying look for [the rosy glow] , can you see it , no i cant, look there it is [the rosy glow] these were eggs that only had,had about 5 days incubation and i was letting the bantoms out for there 40 minute break, he then grabbed an egg that was under one of the bantoms and said look there it is the [rosy glow] of a fertile egg, jim i said that ones from asdas , its got a date stamp on it!!!! , it was a odd egg to encourage the broody to stay broody!!! my mises laughed for about 20 minutes, great character was jim, missing him like crazy, mark.
Just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear that Jimmy had passed away, I only found out this morning and have since spoken to his Mum, my sympathies are with her during this sad time.
I knew Jimmy & his Mum for about 8 years we didnt live in each others pocket, but I bought some excellent birds from him over the years he always had time to chat and I never heard him speak ill of anyone. The first time I met him he gave me a little old hood, its one of those hoods that seem to fit any bird and for some reason I always kept it, now it will stay with me as a memory of a true gent. I will miss him for many reasons but also because its one less person in the falconry world that I can call and get good honest advice on a variety of issues with out any condescending comments which is what a lot of people get when looking for advice on this forum.
God Bless Jimmy ..... Alex

Last season he would arrive on his motorbike , he came up to help me force inseminate a peregrine, real funny guy, bred 2 falcons from that falcon, i planned to give him a female to fly, but it wasnt to be, great guy Jimmy, mark.
