Does anybody have details on the laws and requirements for owning and hunting with a BOP in New Jersey?

jvanleir,
I am sure our American friends will put me right on this, but seeing that you are 14 you will have to find a mentor and serve a 2 year apprentice. You will then have to sit a state exam where you will be expected to score high marks. After that you have to pass a state exam demonstrating that you understand field sport rules and regulations etc.
You also have to construct approved housing for your bird which will be inspected.
Then you will have to apply for a license
You will become a general falconer in the first instance and will only be allowed to own 2 birds at most ( I think) You would then graduate to Master Falconer with time and that status would allow you to own more birds.

Why do people own more than one bird? Don't the birds live long enough to enjoy their company for 5 or so years at least?

Best thing you can do is to join your local falconry club. Try type in "New Jersey hawking club"Or "New Jersey falconry" in your search engine.

Try 15-25yrs :!:
Why do people own more than one bird
Because they been fishing, kept fish,budgies,canaries,parrots..saw a bop(normally a tree rat/sorry,i mean owl  )and then think "ill try falconry  "..cant hack that so they just collect the birds. :finga:
