Just thought i would let you all know of a MHH i have in my possesion for a couple of weeks after a call from the IBR to try and retrieve the bird which at the time was taking ducks from the canal and local pool it took me 3 days to retrieve the bird, and after holding him for for the last 2 weeks would you believe nobody has reported the bird as lost in the local area i have informed all the correct correspondence regarding the bird but to no avail
So basically has anyone or know of anyone who has lost a MHH in the midlands area i say this as i think in my oppinion the bird may have been wild for some time judging by the state of its anklets and believe it or not its mew jess it still had attached(as hard as a piece of wood)and how aggressive he is towards people
Thank PAUL

paul,
how will you stand if no one collects him?....also is there anything wrong in manning him back down.....even flying him, after all its in the best interest of the bird.
and if the owners do get in touch...well infact you have done them a favour !!!
have you reported it to the police?

Yea KEV i have informed the local authourities and police but they too have no reports of a lost or stolen bird fitting the discription or ring number i gave them
As for if no one collects him the ibr says i can keep hold of him if i wish to or they will rehome him given the the decision i make
As for flying him he is part way through the moult and his feathers are a bit raggy the ones he has (didnt stop him hittin them ducks though)so dont think it will be good idea to fly him as hard as i like to fly my birds mate would rather put the effort into another bird that has a good set of feathers and is capable of flying to its full potential
And as for doing anyone that leaves there bird out without reporting lost or stolen to anyone a favour i got no sypathy for and they deserve there b***s cut of and fed back to them so hence wont be doing them any favours

Just to inform you all still no body has claimed or reported the bird lost in the area so i have started some initial manning and training which seems to be going ok for now he's responding well to the fist for food (ie flying half football pitch) but still aggressive when on the fist and he don't like being aproached still dropping his wings and head and calling out in aggresion like he's gonna lunge forward but hey we can't have everything over night lol will keep you all posted on any progress
Thanks again

Right just too inform you of my progress with him i have received the registration docs from the ibr last thursday handing ownership over to me as no body came forth for him.
secondly as i posted in a earlier post i have been doin some work with him the last couple of weeks and yesterday i let him loose from the creance for the first time since catching him up and he was a bit hessitant coming down from trees but got there in the end had 2 flights at rabbits which he just missed (escaped down warrens)then on tghe way back to the car we passed a pool which im sorry to say there was A pair of mallard on and on approaching the pool the they took off and the me HH proceeded to follow after 40yrds he nailed the female out of the air crashing to the ground with her pleased to say im well chuffed but not flyin today as let him have good portion of his first kill :D :D :D but will be out tomorrow if weight ok

With this season's bird flu scare, wonder if mammals alone aren't such a bad idea. :?: What do you think on that?

Not really thought about it but why not put it up as a new thread or poll even to see what the reply is
