BoP-Trading-structures

Hello everyone,

a friend of mine wants to write his dissertation (PhD) about BoP-Trading structures. He asked me to help because I'm falconer and breeder (goshawks, formerly falcons) since more than 20 years.

I know only the trading-behaviors in the german-speaking-region:
- a handful professional breeders, which sell mostly to the UAE (gyr, saker, peregrine)
- a lot of small private breeders, which sell their birds themself to other privates via announce on the only marketpalce (falconbreeding.eu). (Various species)
- no professional traders, which mostly only broke with birds
- one big breeder in the Netherlands (falconiformes)
- no importer, which imports the birds from e.g. the US

What' the situation in your country? I have searched via web and found only the Birdmart and the similar structure like here in Germany (handful professionals, a lot of private breeders). Are there no dealers/importers?

Hi josha.

In Spain it works quite similar as you describe for the german speaking area, the main internet forum is www.cetreria.com (http://www.cetreria.com) with a lot of commercial activity, there are some "industrial breeders" with a high percentage of selling to the arab market and we have small breeders and dealers to satisfy our internal market.
