Had the aeriel fall off my transmitter twice until I was bright enough to glue it on. How is the transmitter mounted?

The only way you would lose a transmitter from this tailmount is only by taking it out (it hooks into two holes within the mount)! I have heard of the old tales of "devious" falconers luring another falconers bird down on the other side of a wood or hill..... but thats only hearsay.

I had a Gyr/Saker that was on tame hack lured down, the transmitter was removed and taken to a local centre, that was going to replace the batteries and put it out for me to find again?

But, I also got it and the bird only because I had a small tag on a backpack which was not taken off or even see I think and that was how we tracked the bird to a blokes mews!

After a bit of banter and calling the cops I got the bird. Now these people do come on the forum and will swear to their good intentions. I do however have one question? Why the hell did they not ring the number on the leg ring, that was bright YELLOW?

its fair to say there are inscrupulous peeps on all walks off life BUT have to say since becoming involved in the sport i have been "ripped off" in more ways than one over various things. OOOHH the stories to tell over the camp fire...... on the flip side i have also made some very good and genuine friends so cant complain.

The only way you would lose a transmitter from this tailmount is only by taking it out That is the same tail mount I used. I had a transmitter with a short aerial jump out twice. I fixed the problem by adding a small piece of builders silver tape over the clip. When my bird went missing, he came back minus transmitter too. However I had noticed that if the aerial ever snapped it was possible for the wire clip to come free. I thought we had solved the problem with a drop of superglue and tape around the barrel. It was all checked carefully before flying. This transmitter had never moved all winter despite some heavy knocks. So where is it now?? If some one nicked it then it wasn't working any way, cos thats why the bird went missing  so unless they got the warranty its no use to them

the tiercel was flying at 1lb 5oz, when i lost him, when i TOOK him from RRF he weighed 15oz, and was blocked out in mid Jan, he was on deaths door and took 2 months care by me to get him up to weight again, that's why we where so considerate when we paid them a visit, :x

o i forgot they also wanted £200 for the bird for 2 day stay, :?:
