These Sampo swivels have been used by falconers for a very long time. The ball bearings insure that these swivels will rotate and keep your hawk tangle-free at all times. We have never been told of one breaking!
Sampo actually fits custom rings to the two smaller sizes especially for falconry and we don't buy them! Instead we fit our own solid stainless steel rings made from high quality stainless spring steel and have them welded by a master welder local to us here in Wyoming. These rings are sturdier and the exact size you need for the jesses on birds whose weights are listed here. This is another example of our commitment to not accepting any piece of equipment that is not perfectly suited for the job at hand.
Large size: (Swivel Weight 17 gr.) Raptors approximately 26 oz / 728 gr. on up in size.
Medium: (Swivel Weight 6 gr.) Raptors approximately 14 oz / 392 gr. on up to the above size.
Small: (Swivel Weight 4 gr.) Raptors under 14 oz / 392 gr.
