New Bells from Andy Peel

Hi All

Just received a new type of bell from Andy Peel of Peels Bells today, they are a new design made from Berylium and stainless steel, each bell has a slighty different tone and very loud and crisp.... they are tail bells and will be replacing the bell that I already have mounted as I was not happy with the volume & pitch of the bell.

The new design enables the bell to be reheated after a year or two of use to bring it back to its origional volume and tone. This can be done on your gas cooker flame (for those of you with Gas) until the bell just goes "cherry red" then leave in a safe place to cool off....then leave the bell in "coke" overnight to bring back its shine.

I will be using Andy's bells from now on .... as many other falconers do already :)

andy peel has been making good bell's for years there's no need for the plug, my heighbour said to me once "do those bell's have to be so loud" i said NO but Andy peel made em so they are !

How do they compare to his black ones?

If id'e of known i would of baught his bells instead of the nobal bells star is now wearing according to what people are saying they are prob louder than the nobel bells.
Has anybody had both of the above bells and compared them?????????

Yup....and Andy's comes out the clear winner for sound & tone (and looks)by a mile.... I dont know about the longevity of either bell .....but I have the same size bell of Noble and Peel and I know which I am going to use :)

i used andys bells past 2 seasons there are excelent might get me a pair of new ones though wot are they called griff :D

Just had the chance to compare them today as I just took delivery of a pair of Andy's bells this morning, their tone seems clearer than the Noble bells, it may be an audial (?) illusion but they do sound louder.
