Years ago, hood maker Dennis Maynes showed me a hood that was just one of the coolest damn things I had ever seen . It was from a hood maker in the US and was extremely well made. As we both stared at it, I knew one day I would have to make my version of the hood. Dennis drew me a pattern of what he thought it should look like, well 2 1/2 years and dozens of prototypes later here is our take on that very hood.
So Sean D, Justin and Hawking , Introducing the Cooler "N" Hell Hood . A very unique sewn and blocked Anglo style hood with sewn brace tabs in the back and decrative throat slash.
Pictured is the Cooler "N" Hell field hood. There will two other styles the Dressed Cooler "N" Hell field hood and a lizard version as well. There will be no tooling on the hood as in my mind ,,,"IT DON'T NEED IT"
Sizes from Peregrine tiercel to Female redtail..

Here is the newest one just completed today..

Ken, do you have a picture of it on a bird?
I tried to make a hood like that once. I really like the flat sewing and the fact that the seams are nowhere near the bird's eyes. Needless to say mine was a poor imitation of yours. In many ways it was a poor imitation of a hood but I still like the idea.

Hello IF,, I am making one for my hawk and a friend's peregrine,, I am trying to get use to sizing and fitting of this hood. The pattern is beyond me sometimes.. Once I have some photos I will most certainly post them. This concept is great,, just need to work out the "Kinks", I do like this hood. I won't be selling them until I am 100% sure of a fit,, As I said we have been playing with it "off" and "on" for almost 3 years..
