Hi

I am looking for a hunting ground when I could go to hunt with my falcons in Belgium, preferebly close to The Netherlands. I would appreciate any contact there to keep in touch with and to arrange it.

I have also a peregrinus female. She is still under training. I would love to accompany any falconer with license within the Netherlands.

Thank you to all in advance.
Roberto

Hi Roberto,

Belgium isn't that good for flying falcons, especialy waiting on because there is much urbanisation. The grounds aren't that suitable. And if they are,Most of the grounds are shooting estates. Maybe in French speaking Belgium you could have a go? I wish you luck.

Thank you for your replay.
I have found a hunting ground around 60 km southern Brussels. It looks great!.

Hi Jan
I could go to Belgium in general terms every weekend.
I have falcons, but I could fly at least one of them (a saker) from the fist. She hunts birds and also rabbits. The other two falcons are peregrinus. Maybe it will not be easy to find a good place for them but if I could at least train them with the kite will be still fine to me.
Thank you for your answer

Hi Roberto,

Hunting season is close now at the moment over here, starts again 15 sept on rabbit and partridge and 15 okt pheasant and hare, so not much hunting going on here.
I will make some contact with some guys from here, your question is to have grounds to train the bird whilst your in Belgium? When are you in Belgium and were and for how long?
Maybe i can sort something out for you

Hi Jan

I do not go normally to Belgium. If I go is just to train or to hunt with the birds, so no matter where the ground is. I would go basically during the weekends. Last year I had a hunting ground in Wallonia. It was great but maybe a little bit far to go every weekend. Thatīs why I would like to find something closer to Holland.
You already know about the restrictions in The Netherlands. I still do not have the falconer license so I just can fly but not to hunt...
Thank you for all your help
