I think I am speaking for myself and other beginners who have read this thread when I say I Appreciate it and would find it both interesting and informative for people to elaborate more along the equipment side of things. Bit of a mouth full, think their should be a coma or two in there somehwere. ah well.
Thanks, Lee

Um me thinks that if someone has an idea he wants a bird then the first thing he should do is beg borrow or steal "Hawking & Falconry for Beginners@ by A Halgarth.
No I am not his cousin or neither do I fancy him this book is a genuinely good read especially if you are interested in the HH. For those who dont know it the book focuses on the various stages from getting to flying your bird without too much garble about himself and his setup....Its toooo the point.
When you read that you should have an idea of what is involved then get together items that are surgested in this thread.
Oh and pick the brains of the experienced falconers on this site over anything you arnt sure about

Understanding is something you much need !
Its not like riding a bike u cant get back on when u fall off u need to stay on. All the trappings money can buy will be no good to you and useless to the well being of your bird if you dont take time to understand what it is you are doing

I've still got the list I made when I got my kessie  First hawk I ever owned <sigh>
Fortunately at that point I had a pretty good idea what I needed, plus several books and a glove given to me by the centre where I served my apprenticeship....oops showing my age there  8)

What about Cost of starting, it's not cheap to start up! Roughly how much has it cost people to get started?
