i was told yesterday of the sudden death of micheal westwood.a true falconer and superb hood maker.i remember him from the 60s flying falcons and hawks on dudley castle.he worked with many fine falconers over the years including philip glazier.a true gent and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Very sorry to hear about this. I had past dealings with Mike in as much I bought a gyr/saker which turned out to be a great bird. Sympathies to his family,

Micheal Westwood was one of the "top flight" hoodmakers in the UK, he supplied the Arab Market mainly and produced many types of hoods. He specialised in the Arab hood and also made a unique "slip on" hood after taking the design from his wifes stiletto shoes.

Only just read this thread did not know about Mick, he was a top bloke and made me some brill hoods RIP Mick.
