Hi all, am not looking for an appenticeship as such but more guidence as reading books and the internet is one thing but been there is another, now what i want to really is someone who mybe i could meet and discuss hawks as at this moment in time am a newbie and know little about falconry apart from some laws, different quarry and basic info on harris hawks[the hawk i would get].

If anyone can give any info or places to go for experieces with the birds it would be appreciated ALOT

bookwise i would recommend reading Hawking & Falconry for Beginners
by Adrian Hallgarth especially if your looking at harris hawks

a very knowledgable guy and informative book dealling with owning training and hunting with a harris hawk :D

also for an experience day if you can make it to perth then pheonix falconry adrians place will show you a good hawking day with harrises :D

Cant beat falconry Art and Practise for a general guidance book. And the pictures of the bird aren't bad either :wink:

I live in Pontefract, just getting into the sport as well. I went to the last Northern England Falconry Club meeting (hopefully going to the next as well) and they seem a good bunch, friendly and talkative (except that PCHay :):) )
