can you not find somewhere a bit more suitable to fly the bird?

Perhaps your hunting ground would be better.

I live in england too.

However I wouldn't fly my bird where it's going to land on peoples breeding birds and scare the **** out of them. If I were taking my harris for a walk I would walk away from these kind of obstacles, like peoples pride and joy. How do you think people would look at falconers if everyone let this happen?

I would be extremely ****esoff if I were breeding gos, spars, gyr or whatever and somones eagle landed on the top trying to foot them.

Oh dear...i can see you've had a bad day...so we'll leave it till another time shall we.

OhMyGod
29-08-2005, 10:21 PM
no, had a good day actually, thanks.

If you think this is acceptable fine, I don't, and think you need to engineer your flying in a way that it will not interfear with others. Do you have permission to fly in this garden? Do you think everyone in deven does this?

You may think I'm out of order fine. I still think you should be aware that you got too close to where you shouldn't be flying and you ***ced up!

Of course this was not looked at as fine, the bird flew away from where it was being flown and ended up seeing the budgies from a heigh and a distance. Nobody knew they were there or could have prevented it.

yeah...you ruined what should be one of the most memorable times with your bird by being a tit.
How brave you are? Say it to his face?

Accidents happen. Im sure mikey will avoid that specific route next time.

Let me be the first to say congratulations Mikey for getting him flying free in 9 days!!! Thats an acheivment. :)

WELL DONE

That's is quicker than a falcon, i am very surprised at this? i take it you are using telemetry.

Martin hollinshead has had mishaps with chickens taken by his birds in back gardens that run along side his flying land so it can happen to us all.

Chill winstone :P

I dont really see what Mikey did wrong here, it appears that the ground he was flying his HH on has gardens relatively nearby and one of them has an aviary in it that he didnt know about. Has nobody else had a young bird b*gger off when it spots something of interest, or even get blown away with no telemtry on.

yeah...you ruined what should be one of the most memorable times with your bird by being a tit.

SHES BACK!!! **** YEAH

i am so relieved its unbelievable. She was at the manor house

Oh come on ColdZero, nobody has said he hasn't learnt from it, if he didn't know the avery was there and the bird found it, now he knows and I am sure Mikey is sencible enough to avoid the area.

Mikey, take no notice mate, some people are only too happy to critisize without really reading all the facts, so well done. Can't wait to see a pic of your first kill.

By the way my mews is looking fab, thanks for the plans.

Hi there All,
As someone who has only known Mikey for a little while I have to first congratulate him for having Trained "Blue" his young male so quickly.
And as for the aviary incident that was unfortunate.
But you will all have to go a long way to meet a more dedicated man with such a will to learn everything there is to know about Falconry.
Mikey joined several of us who put on a static display last saturday and Blue was so calm on the fist, and that only came about with the time this man has put into training this bird.
Well done to you Mike.
Albie..

Wow!!!...didn't realise that 'boasting' would cause such a Mixed reaction!?
Thankyou to those of you with kind comments.Yes it was awsome..and each day is more awsome than the last as he finds his wings. It was a most memorable day!Blue went home full of food and the next day we flew, his response was nothing but instant. He obviously had a good day!
Now for all you apparent know alls! You obviously dont! and if you value this forum, and your falconry i would politely suggest you chill out b4 you put a load of people off before they even get started

yeah...you ruined what should be one of the most memorable times with your bird by being a tit....a quote from cold zero i believe...you i look forward to meeting.

Mikey said right after it happend, he would not be able to fly there again. All I can say is that the priginal statement reflects on the falconry mind and experience of the source, not Mikes!

Well done mate, keep it UP!

ColdZero
01-09-2005, 11:46 AM
all i saw was him saying his hawk crashed into an aviary, which fair enough is an accident...but the response he gave to a polite question was

this was out in the middle of nowhere m8!!!just so happened one guy had a flamin aviery in his garden. Some people are so up themselves....do you think im'm flying in the middle of town or something!!

just gave the impression he didn't care...if thats not the case then i apologise.

oh and i have learnt from my mistakes/accidents...my whole point was i didn't get the impression he will...but like i said, i apologise if this isn't true

congratulations btw, i wish i had terra going that bloody fast, we would of bagged something bu now :(

hawk man...now thats funny..n b4 you all get started again...it's what happens ...i'd defy anyone to say they've had a trouble free flying carreer!!
To coldzero...apologie accepted m8! i was training blue on the training groun! that is where he took his first free flight(away from civilisation but not totally)..I want a bird thats used to different things n situations...but the first flight has to be on familiar ground.Once he 'spotted' the aviery i do realise he would remember that ...''exciting'' moment and return as soon as he gets chance....he wont!!??
But as you can see ..everyone has an off day...or something unforseen happen to them. It's how you deal with/sort it that counts

HAWKMAN...i hope that Goose tasted good m8..LOL...gonna go find me some geese!!!
Now can we all skin up and be freinds!!???

whats skin up mean  ! eny way my advise to the young man is to get that bird enterd as soon as pos as for it will give the bird more indapendence and decrease the chance of screeming ! even though the bird is pr there is still a high risk of it screeming , and we dont want that now do we  get that bird some easy kills and you will be all the way ..........................
