New Hood ?

Anyone ever had problems introducing a new hood to a Falcon ?

Ive tried two different new ones now, both the same size and type as the old one but she's having none of it !
Bring out the old one, and no problem at all !

I realise a new one will be stiffer and perhaps tighter (or a better fit) but I struggle to get it on so she doesn't experience any of this.

No, she's parent reared.

Could swear its because she doesnt like the look of them, but she doesnt get much chance to have a good look !

i have they get use to there hood just persist with it and itll come fine after a couple days

Surely this is nothing to be concerned about. Once it's on that's it right? She isn't screaming whilst hooded?

I have found both imprints and PR birds hood better at first with a full crop.

When I hood my Pere/saker for the first time after the moult it will be in the dark. the first time I hood her again in daylight she will have just been fed so I know she will be cool with that.

She didn't scream on the few occasions I've persevered with the new one and got it on her and I wasn't concerned, I was only curious to see if anyone has had a similar experience. I thought at first it was cos she was just out of the moult until I tried the old beat up one and she almost dropped her head down for it !

Thought a new hood would be just be another hood to her !

Maybe she's fancies a MJ Hood, had enough of those Ben Long ones !!
