Dear friends:
A few weeks ago i have been on iceland and fell in love of its gyrs, i´m trying to find some authentic islandus gyrs breeders to buy some of them but it seems to me very difficult to find authentic islandus gyrs.
Do you know of any reputable breeder, anywhere, with authentic islandus gyrs?
Best Wishes.

You could also try Eagle World in Denmark. Most of their original stock of gyrs came from Iceland and Norway.
Don't know how much they breed them these days though, or whether they've had to outcross with other types
of gyrs to keep the lines running.

The only person i know with 100% pure Icelandic bloodlines is a German breeder called Kurt Kunzmaan, massive birds. No one in the UK have a pure undiluted Icelandic breeding pair.

Yes, Kurt has pure gyrs from iceland.
Another german breeder, which has this pure gyrs is Lothar Ciesilski (author of the book "the gyrfalcon")
I know both breeders since years and have seen their birds.
All this birds are offsprings from imported birds in the 70ths. This breeders import the ancestors personally and breed them since now.
@ rabagu: if you will contact the breeders, i can help you.
