-Hi to every body forum-members and moderators:
-Please, someone have a TABLE which can been put here where are showed the Vary Raptor-Head Sizes For To Making Hood-Patterns?
-This head-sizes (in Centimeters and Inches) must been of the cross size between:
-Just behind the eyes of each raptor. From the more small raptor to the more big raptor. Both european raptors as american raptors.
-This table can be very informative and cultural for anyone.
-Thank you very much in advance.

There are many different ones so which blocks do you have?

-Hi Hawkmaster:
-I only have the M & F sizes for: Bay-Winged Hawks & Cooper-Hawks. But with the key of the sizes of vary raptors, maybe can be easy to adjust the size of almost each pattern to any raptor species.
-Thank you for your reply.
-Have a good falconry!

So it is actual measurements you want not say a size X block will work for such and such a bird?

Damn what does all that mean? None of it is in mm?
Does, 6.6: Female: Eastern Red-tail, mean a 66mm head size or hood size?

those numbers are block sizes or hood sizes - not measurements from behind the eye.
Have a look at blackbirds figures at the beginning of the thread.

What are the sizes do Gyr/Prairies tiercels range in?

Hi All
Tims "Headless" Horseman tables  in page one of this thread dont reflect a "fleshed" birds head in my experience.....
The Redtail female size behind the eye will be between 58-60mm in reality for example.....
I made an American Kestrel hood (Male) for "Alf" according to those measurements in the tables and again .... in reality the hood was way too small at 25mm ....would have looked good on a Budgie...... but no good for what it was intended for.
Also, Accipiter does not measure in the same way as a falcon would...... so you have to make an allowance for the skull shape ........ by about 3-4mm

Agreed- I was startled at the size listed for a f/RT myself- 46-51mm would be way too small. Still it's a good table- Griff would it be possible to factor in a standard + 10mm to the sizes listed for an accurate fit?

Hi TF
Its immposible to "guestimate" really .... I just know from hoodmaking.. the general differences. Make enough hoods and you start to get a feel for it..... Every species will have a different flesh and feather mass.... so I can only comment on the common raptors that I fit..... if it comes to sharpies and Coops, for example, it becomes a bit vague because of the variable size according to the East or Western sub species.
