Hi there just been put onto this site, and I'm hoping someone might just be able to help, I have a female goldie who has trashed most of her tail and some secondaries whilst hunting. Anyone who can help with either, goldie, Goldie/Steppe Hybridm, immature baldie or other large eagle feathers to imp in will be a life saver. I have only recently returned to the UK having been out of the country for a number of years, so I don't know that many flyers in the UK.
Any help even if its only a phone number of someone who can help. I will pay all postage and packing.
contact me on tazall@tiscali.co.uk or 07900183298

Sorry mate but i don't think you will have much luck on this one. They are like rocking horse ****. I was already offered £200 for a full set of tail feathers. Took me 3 years to get a set in good condition.

£200 - not quite cheap???
You need a A10 to sell with the feathers now dont ya?

Yes A10 for each
£200 is not expensive either if you have a £5000 bird sitting on a block with a trashed tail

i know these eagles are a big bit of kit but surely there is an alternative to shelling out that kind of money?
and would one falconer actually sting another for something that he came by essentially for free?
A10's are reqired to sell, but what about if they are a gift?
what other birds feathers would suffice in place of the original feathers?

As far as other feathers go, immature baldie, martial or Goldie steppe or possibly verrauxs if there are any about would fit in size and quill wise, not to bothered if they look different. Feather perfect not a priority at the moment.

Believe it or not but the feathers from a Heron do an adequate job

Anyone who activly flys an eagle will have saved any good feathers for their own use and would be very reluctant to part with them. Bearing in mind that an eagle does not complete a full moult each year, and it is always sods law that the most damaged feathers are the ones that don't get thrown. Not the first time i have had to imp before the season even started.
A best option would be to try any centres that have an eagle for diplays.
