Here is an exact replica of the hood Dennis Maynes made for Sheikh Zayed who used the original for a dozen years on his favourite saker before he passed away.
Dennis Maynes made the hood exactly as he did for the original and has gifted the hood to me. The hood was blocked on Chinook Blocks.
As I have stated previously Dennis Maynes makes the finest Glued hood in the WORLD.

I will pass your comments on to Dennis, fortunately we are good friends and we exchange hoods frequently. We both are hood collectors.

I met Dennis in 1982, I fondly remember going to his parent's house and watch him make a hood for my redtail. I was new to falconry and with his and Colin Trefry's help I was able to get experience flying the tail a ferrug, kestrel, coop and gos hawks and a prairie. Harris hawks were just becoming a falconry bird on the West Coast.
Dennis has been making hoods for like 30 years and he was the one that came up with his Chinook blocks that I use and sell and that Northwoods Falconry sells as well. They are a proven block, as I said Dennis has been making hoods on them for over 30 years.
His glued hoods are the finest in the World and he is a WIZARD at coming up with new patterns. He has been a HUGE help in my hood making and many of the hoods I name with the help of Dennis. He calls me Mr. FUFF for some of my wild, colorful hoods
He is one of the featured hood makers in the upcoming Jim Nelson book on Hoodmaking. There is no one better. He is simply incredible what he can do with glue.
He has also been a fine falconer, hood collector and Beer drinker.. One of the best!
He no longer sells hoods commercially, in fact that hood was the first hood he made in over a year, he still makes the odd one for trade and for friends. He has several hoods at the Archives as well.
