of those hawk thingies like you used to have.
The words of my 10 yr old son not repeatedly but dropped into conversation around once a week for 6 months. The answer was always i don't know until we went to see a BOP display and the question started to pop up daily. I had decided I would like to get a bird about a year ago as i had kestrels as a youngster and not ever got away from the idea but my son was too young at that point so held out until recently.
I gave in and we discussed it looking at the angles good and bad before agreeing. After some enquiries and because of his age and the birds weight we decided on a male HH. Now we had to learn and go slow, i got a couple of books that were surgested on here and cant get him out of them each day I get told what he has been looking at which is cool as he is enjoying it thus far.
He has seen BOP on a number of occasions but never handled one or got up close so I took him off to the Midlands fair this weekend. Got him into one of the children's classes which he really enjoyed and managed to get him a nice glove and a pot of grease before he spent sat and sun afternoons with his arse firmly planted on a bale of straw watching the falconry display ring.
We traveled back last night and he spent his time chatting with his sister about the day and what he was going to call the bird. He went off to bed saying "I am really up for this dad whers the new book"
