I was wondering how do you falconers make your birds common to a kite? I did it last year when the bird was still on a long line flying. I let the kite go up but no to high and then let the bird flying to me. Or I give the bird some food at his block and I taked the kite above him sometimes. But I was wondering how you people are doing this? So please feel free to answer

Ohh and I buyed me this week another kite for not much wind. because I experienced many problems last year when there was not much wind.

I sometimes let the bird I want to train to the kite see it while blocked or in the mews.

I then launch the kite at full height and do the normal creance work with the hawk.

Once free I let the birds go for the lure while it just bounces around on the floor. Kite still at full height.

Then slowly increase the heights of the lure.

First 100 foot will take time. Thereafter it will easier as you go up, just take it slow.

Strength, Fitness (muscle buildup), Get the bird up to the height as they would do in the wild when out hunting (falcons and some hawks)... Any more reasons people know of???

The kite is 323cm x 150 cm. I'm don't know how much that is in inches but it's a big one :)
