I think I have just gained muppet of the year award.....
Yesterday, my female spar took a magpie, I moved in as quick as I could to despatch the maggie, I couldn't see too well, the light was poor and my spar was all over it's quarry.
I covered the magpie with my gloved hand, and slid my bare hand in to despatch..... I grabbed what I thought was it's head, took a firm hold and did what I needed to do to break it's neck.....I did this VERY quickly.......

Guess who's got a broken thumb.......

I know, before you say it, how the **** do you break your own thumb?
I can vouch that it's possible.......

I thought the spar was going to get it.

Late Lord Lucan i can safely say in my opinion you are NOT the muppet of the year. That title i feel needs to go to Lord Watson who is now in a cell with no curtains learning how to pick up soap in the showes of HMP.

Yes I did manage to do that a few seconds later......all be it with only one hand.
Flying yesterday was very uncomfortable.....you won't believe how much a spar weighs and how strong it is when it's sitting on the said thumb!

Hey Lucky,

As TheZuffler stated its kinda common you only have to have your thumb at an odd angle and it don't take much for them bones to break.

Just to add insult to injury, the spar keeled over and died yesterday for no apparent reason at all........gutted.
