Hiya!

I have taken on a lanner from Terry - unsure if a female or male, looks like a female but fat weight is 1lb 6 1/2 so....?!

She was bought last year but had major feather damage so had to be left to moult. She is still moulting now. She was bought from a breeder is Scotland. I think she's an african (Falco Biarmicus abyssinicus) rather than a morrocan Lanner. All her primaries are hard down, just some outer trains then I can the hard work. Im just manning her, letting her see things as this is the first time she been handled and doing very well. Hooding isnt too bad but she does open wide and an occational hiss. Will eat OK off the fist. Had quail before she came to me, and chick leg on the fist last night. :)

Pics, as normal, are going to be small as I havnt learnt how you resize em so they are bigger. But they will be here after dinner. Have a nosey at the pics and you can tell me what you think...male or female?

Also, she didnt come with a name, so I've given her a nickname instead of calling her "bird". Jabbu just came to mind lol. Might change if I see something better

hi hanna i would think she is a female . just compaired to the pic of the gyr saker.
get your self a tiny lanneret and do some mini lanners
they would be ace for hedge hunting .
i have a lanner on my left fist as i type this tghey are ace birds. mines a 10 year old imprint that never seems to want to stop moulting . we had her free about 3 months back and she is fast very very fast . we think she makes the perlin matt had last year look lugish, and the sakerets like seagulls .
for examlpe she has not been looe for 5 years because of breeding. we droped her weight about 2 oz and let her go straight up to about 150 foot 3 passes like she was a pro. on the second pass she wenty through 3 large hawthorn trees about 7 meters long there i only just enough room to througna foot ball throght .
she whent through the first gap around the middle tree and out the last gap with out hitting a single branch. all this in no more than 15 meter curcle. truly amasing.
matts been feeding her hole pheasant and partradge and she is nutts over them we hope to enter her ion feather by october .
you can see a ic of her next to my name .
god long post bad spelling anmd grammer to .
see ya
