Hi all any ideas on quitening my harris. here goes he is flown every other day but has not been entered yet. hopefully soon when i get my ass into gear he is only fed on the fist but not in the mews on the fist. i sometimes hide his food in the mews for him to feed up on. he is very steady bird fully paerent reared . his noise is not really causing a problem it just would be nice to stop him calling for food. his flying weight when i trained him was 1lb 5 oz but now will respond at any weight at all he is that greedy now flying at 1lb7oz any advice welcome his paerents are quiet cheers

Get him killing m8,
When he realises that he can provide for himself he wont look to you for food quite so much.

I agree you need to get him entered very quickly. Plus if you started flying him at 1lb 5oz but are now getting a rapid response at 1lb 7 oz, it is possible you held his weight down too low at the begining, which would encourage him to call for food. If you are feeding on the fist he then he is calling you for food, this can be a problem. he should look at you as an aid for him to obtain his food (ie. partner out hunting) not as a kind of surrugate parent offering him titbits. If you cant find a kill for him quick, try and get a rabbit or part of one and use it as a dragged lure and try to let him feed up on that. Feeding off a lure can help to break the connection as you being the food provider. It is also a good way to call him back if he wanders as it can be seen for a long way. They are naturally rather 'chatty' birds, but you want to avoid turning him into a real screamer.

I agree, get him killing asap and as I've told others, stop feeding him around his mews and off the fist until he is killing regularly.
