Lots of info about pen dimensions and interior layout but how much daylight do breeding spars need?

If your breeding pen is at least two thirds open to the sky, nature will take care of that...

Thanks. I'm considering using an old building but don't think I can rip the roof off, so I've only got windows. Unlikely to succeed?

Yes, in my opinion.

Thanks, I was hoping for a cheap option but It's what I suspected and I know i really need to consider building something.

Cheap options aren't the way.
Look at it this way, a secluded enclosure can be built at a fraction of the price you'll get back when you sell those lovely eyasses...

i dont know for sure but specialist uv lamps can encourage breeding and chick developement as a supplement do natural uv ie vit d production . the hours of day light bring on the breeding season so in a area where light is scarce it could help ie on a timer.
no substitute for natural light though.

Don't bother with this, because that's just what it'll be... a bother.
If you haven't the space, time, nor money to breed your spars properly, you'll be better off forgetting it, at least for now, and buying an eyass bred by someone else.
have you tried raptor specific uv lamps , are they not worth it as i have heard they are good for birds from the warmer climates.
