Got her out today and she was 2lbs 10 1/2oz, seems a stax better than before and much steadier too. Did some manning near a road as she was really bad with anything motorised and even that went very well.

She fed on the fist today at 2lbs 7 5/8 oz and then done a 10 inch hop. Starting to be much better with the dog and as I write this almost accepting my bare hand near her, it almost gives me hope that I may be able to hood her one day? Probably not much chance of that though!
She has had about 4 hour in total in the glove but has been with me all day. I also found it interesting when I was working the dog that she was really eyeballing the fush quarry and along the road too.
I think the Pole Perch has helped a big lot, so mega thanks to the Bristol Boys.

Hello Paul,
Why would you want to hood an imprint gos or even a p/r one ? conditioning a gos will negate the need for hooding.
Yours Jim.

She encompasses everything I love about accipiters, especially her wonderful eye colour, hypnotising and deadly at the same time.
Good Hawking!!

For me it makes many situations easier.
Sneaking, Engineering a slip etc.
Very handy with an injured hawk also.

Injured hawk I agree with, but you can always put a hood on an injured hawk without making it to it (as long as you own a hood that fits).
Once your gos is killing regulary, it soons learns the score, even when in company when others gosses take the flight.
I think a gos comes fully into condition when exposed to field conditions rather than straight out the giant hood (box) - a hood would produce similar results.
Only my thoughts and most likely differ from yourself, but I flown gosses singulary without a hood or on field meets without a hood - the gos still performed and killed whatever was flushed in front of it.
I only fly over a point, so never need the element of surprise or sneaky approach - so I may differ in field techniques with yourself, but the gos watches the dog with ulitimate intensity and knows what's going to happen when he comes on point, this couldn't happen with a hooded gos.
Yours Jim.

Many times there are reasons I want to use one that would make things easier. Nobody can tell me they do not hood an imprint at all. She is just a TOTAL nightmare if she even sees one and it would be nice to have her accept it.
Many time we have discussed this and OF and I feel the same about the hoods usage, but then it would still be nice to do it without the World War III episodes!
Hooding in the field with other people would be the biggest bonus as my girl freaks out if she is not allowed to go on a slip, if it is not her turn. Or when we are in a field and it is taking long to get a rabbit to bolt standing in one spot, she starts to get vocal with boredom.

She is fine, but lost some fitness!
The pole perch is ACE and better than a bow perch any day.
Will get some pictures of the securing setup later.
