Cheap batteries are false economy.
Silver oxide batteries are best as they are more long lived than alkaline cell ones.
(The operating life of your transmitter will be quoted on the performance of Silver oxide cells not Alkaline)
Parallell to this, How many of you use a battery tester?
And I dont mean the Kacky ones bought off the bourgh market with an LED display, I mean a propper one that puts the battery cell under working load and then tells you what its throwing out?
Not many I will wager.
How many of you put the batteries in and then hold the transmitter next to the reciever and if it beeps when turned on, Crack on?
If the batteries are used you will probably notice a sharp drop in signal strength if you were to try the same thing from 100 yards away.

I totally agree BB, the Energizers are all Silver Oxide and as some will know, I tested them continuously earlier this year. Both my Bio Track transmitters ran for 12 days and I was still getting a signal from 1.5 miles away, and that was over the houses.

I found the battery-force.co.uk and the smallbattery.company.org.uk very helpful when looking for cr927s if these firms are any help to you.

Gave up looking in UK so they are in the post from USA. Not sure of the price yet as it is in dollars plus shipment. Ordered 100 of them. Think the price is OK and may have some spare.
