hi my name is lizzie and I am the younger daughter of steve. I am getting a six year old barn owl called Fidget and I was wondering if anybody knew how long it would be before I could start doing some training with lures and other ways of exercising her, we know the person who owned her last quite well and he did not do any hunting with her, she does chase a little teddy bear and thats all. If anybody has any tips or advise they could give me I owuld be very grateful.
Thanks Lizzie!

hi lizzie how tame is your owl, mine hunts mice and voles, but is too tame and likes sit on my shoulder rather than hunt, get a small mouse toy(cat type) and some string and try him on that with some meat on it, what weight is the owl and what sex is it...graham

havent picked her up yet her name is fidget she is six years old and she has had the same life as your bird i.e. sitting on the shoulder of my dads mate and being spoilt in all the wrong ways so this is why i have set up the thread to try and work out how i can bring her round.
i would very much like to keep you up to date with her progress and thank you very much for your valuable suggestions, as soon as i get her home i will take some photos of her and e-mail them to you so you can see what she looks like.
Thanks again,
lizzie wise
(13 years old).
Happy Hunting!!

I could but i thought i would give your neck a good stretch (did it work) want i meant by fun is that i have a barn owl that will follow on through tree to tree and will also wait on until you are ready or until you call it to the fist.

That does not look like a picture of your Barn Owl, Whispa. I'm sure that the last time I saw it it had navy blue feathers.

Message especially for 'Barbie Boy' (ops sorry Barbary Boy) Perhaps you should not be so quick to judge youngsters interested in any BOP.

Thought you might like to see a picture of our Gos! Hope this meets with your ideas of a Bird of prey!

Best wishes to all the young people out there with an interest

Hi, Lizzie here,
Me, my dad and my sister went ferreting today and we got two wabbits but another two got away due to dodgy net setting.
To Lady-Luck I think the site is wicked and I loved looking through the gallery.
