Any idea of the birds training? Is it fresh out of the aviary or an older bird?

If it is legal where you are get a bal chatri or put a pigeon in a snare harness. Should be no problem to catch.

Not sure which country you are in ! If you can legally use a trap as above, that works well. If not a large whole, dead, gutted rabbit secured on a string and hide round the corner. If the bird lands on it, give the cord a few gentle tugs untill it has a good solid grip. Sneak up keeping as low to the ground as you can. If it has leather work on the legs, try to catch hold that way (gloved hand) or if not you may have to borrow a large fishing net if all else fails and net it on the rabbit.

Have you ever done falconry before m8 ,or have you just spotted the bird ,
Id get intouch with the RSPCA or a bird sanctuary ,where abouts are you based as hawkmaster said .
Id leave it to the experts if i was you

agree with others here leave it to the experts just inform ibr/rspca of it whereabouts
you trying to catch it yourself could result in injury to you or the bird and if its someones bird that has escaped i,m sure they would rather have it found and re captured safely

there is regularly lost h/hawks reported around my area, there are so many people who have got them now and it makes me laugh when people say "you cant lose a h/hawk,there have even been reports of them breeding in the wild? last year a local friend of mine got called out to one that was attacking a local farmer and his wife, his 7th h/hawk call out that year,he turned up thinking the story to be exagerated then it promptly flew down and took his girlfriend by the neck! they werent quick enough in thier pannick to catch it and all subsequent attempts failed, the bird was quite obviously a danger to the public so he phoned it in to our local wildlife liason officer, within 20 mins an armed response team arrived to check it out,it promptly went for one of the officers,so the officer in charge gave the order and it was blown out of the tree by 3, 12 bores at close range,i swear to god this really happened. on the other hand i have another friend a little way from here and he has had one living wild around his place without any problems for over 5yrs?

I was told to keep my eyes open starting October.
I belive I've seen a immi FRT off the M40 but couldn't get back to the location for a closer look. Of couse I'll keep my eyes open on my commutes, now I just have to figure out how to get off the motorway to where she was.
