Hi all i want to start building my Chamber for my BOP next year but the unfortuante thing is i am no good what so ever at DIY so therefore will not attempt to build myself. I am looking for someone that will be able to Build from scratch i require a professional job doing no disrespect not just someone that will have a go (No offence to anyone) I require the Chamber to be built up on a course of Breeze Blocks. I am willing to pay, Will also need dog kennal building with a run.Allready have Kennals but there to big @16ftx16 and i need to re- adjust to make room for BOPS chamber. This is the picture of the Chamber i request to be built. The BOP i will be requireing is a Male Harris Would gratelly appreciate if some person could do this for me i live in Nottingham.

Thanks to the person that as offered to build me my chamber you know who you are, One of the questions he has asked is what size mesh to the roof i suggested 1 inch plastic coated Twilweld would this be adequate? as for bar spaceing what space is required please? and is galvanised tube ok probably 3/4 inch One last thing is it adviseable to put some Netlon in front of the mesh or at the back of it or is it not needed. The BOP will be a male Harris for next year thank you all......................

I think the bars are best at 50mm apart, dont forget to put mesh infront of the bars tho incase one breaks

Hiya John, welcome to the forum bud. Recognise the pic from emma fords book. Altho that is an ideal type aviary/mews don't feel you have to stick to that plan 100% it's far better to cutom build one to suit your requirements and space. when're you hoping to have it built by? I built my own for 700 quid with power and lighting and can give you a few pointers if you like, here's a pic....

Nice looking Mews u have there m8, one thing i have noticed about ppls Mews is majority of them have solid roofs is there any particular reason for this? As i was going to go with the design half solid half mesh or is it all down to preference. What i dont want to be doing is makeing changes when it as been built. Thanks all.

NJ, in the light of worries about avian flu, you may want to incorporate a solid roof into your mews, not least because advice is to keep all birds indoors ,to help negate a possibiltiy of infection to your hawk. Hope this makes sense, there are alos other reasons& will be happy to discuss them with you if you wish to phone me sometime

My preferance is for the completely covered mews, rain can still get in via the large front weldmesh sho she can sit in it if she wants (when free lofted) but it stops wild birds ******** into the mews and poss spreading disease. It is usually own to preferance but in light of the recent bird flu risk, as screaming jay pointed mentioned, go for the covered roof mate, need any help let me know bud.

yeah, only 10 mins of sunlight on our skin each day produces enough vitamin D for us. no wonder we need supplements in this country of never ending clouds hehe
