Depending on what you are wanting to box, I have found that the pet voyager 800 (or bigger) in black (yes the ones for cats and dogs) is ideal for harrises/redtails. I blank out the sides with ducktape (you can do this and still allow air to circulate), and blank off the front with a piece of leather.
I then put a perch inside, which is pretty easily done. These boxes are relatively lightweight, breakdown into two halves for easy cleaning and are extremely robust. The one I am using currently I have had for nearly 10 years now.
However, if you are wanting to box anything else (or cant get hold of a black pet voyager) I think the falcon fabrications boxes are spot on! ;)

:supz: one that i've made mate hehe, being a carpenter i only made one for myself initially as i usually make custom celtic furniture, but now i have loads of requests to build some for people. i don't use the plastic ones, nothing against them, know people who have them and they're very good, but building my own in my opinion is far better, can taylor it to my own needs and ease of use. will post some pics just as soon as i've taken some.

I made my own box, and it is quite nice, you always can repair it if its wood-made, and with a good painting you wont have ane problems wiht the cleaning.

Hi guys and girls.
I have recently commissioned a board material that is perfect for building raptor aviaries, weatherings, you name it it can do it. It comes in black, 6mm or 9mm, is rot proof, non toxic, non absorbent, tough as hell, maintenance free, chew resistant, easily cleanable and ultimately is reusable. It will also help insulate for winter and keep cool in summer.
Cost wise is comparible to 18mm standard ply wood per 8x4 sheet, with your usual stainings and preservatives and various linings attached. This material is your finished structure with no other covering required and no maintenance except the usual cleaning. It will also will fix to standard timber or metal framework the same as ply and no special cutting or preparation tools are required.
An extremely strong material, I have already tested it against impact from horses within a horse training arena. It didn't budge at all. This material is brilliant and looks the business when installed.
I will also be looking to use this material to manufacture Raptor transport boxes and canine transport boxes. If a client wishes to have a bespoke design manufactured then we can complete the job for them.
I will be looking to offer the material for sale (for aviaries) shortly across europe, and I am looking at possibly supplying pre built systems in flatpack version for clients who may want it that way. If any one would like to speak to me abot it then please pm me with contact details and I will gladly answer any questions you may have.
I will shortly post some photos of a set of aviaries recently built using this board (Raptor Board).
