My male harris was sat in a tree and a magpie came mobbing it so i watched it kept swooping in at him so i kept on watching him for 10 mins
suddenly he went for the maggie and clipped its tail feathers

errrr....young or old bird it shouldn't have sat in a tree for 10 minutes. it should have either been recalled by you, or taken a wack at the thing immediately. a bird dosnt get a 10 min chance at any thing.

Id imagine the bird would be slightly pre-occupied if the bird is swooping at him... were you hunting him at the time Harris?

Drop his weight mate. My FHH did this so i got her in and that was the end of the day. Dropped her weight gradually, then she was spot on. She was spot on yesterday. Responsive to everything. Went hunting - had 4 flights at rabbit and two flights at hare (not easy slips) and she wacked a pheasent but managed to get away. She knows what to do, but not had any easy slips as yet!! :D
