My nephews bird plucks till she is bear skinned

hi all my nephew phoned me and said my fhh when she been fed and her chest is out she plucks it till she has no fether there
would this be mites
let me know asap plzzz
if it is mites tell me how to cure and ill tell him thanks

Red mite only appear at night, you can see them in clusters with a torch. You have to treat the bird and all its quarters including any boxes. tho this dosn't tie in with the 'after food' bit. red mite tend to cause feather pulling starting on the legs. A routine spray for feather and red mite etc. may help.
Other wise afraid it is off to the vet before the bird wrecks its feathers.
