Yust ram the panicur tablet down the throat of a DOC.Its normally 2 tabs for a female and 1 for a male as the dosage is on the weight of the Hawk.If you cant find a Vet that deals with BOPSs try and find one that deals with Racing Pigeons etc. like mine.

You can buy panacur in a liquid form this is what i use. Soak a chick in it. You can buy it from any vet but they may ask to see the bird before hand. The best way to get around this is say the bird is free lofted and in a breeding chamber and you dont want to catch it up. If not you can get panacur from Ginger French he supplies all the running dog people with there medicians and injections if you need any more help P.M me and i will give you the number.

Take a mute sample FIRST send it to any of the well known avian vats. They will test it for you. It is very cheap. You will probably find it will come back negative..ie NO worms. If there is any thing ie worms, coccidiosis etc the vet will tell you what to buy for that specific worm or problem.
Good idea to get a mute sample, but otherwise "if it aint broke dont fix it" worming unnecessarily can a) stress bird b) lead to an imunity against the wormer etc. etc.

Exactly right, how do these people who keep worming their hawks without testing them first - know if they have worms or even their using the right wormer ? £6.00 for a mute sample seems the easiest way for me.

The TWO post above are spot on, NEVER just ram it down them! This can kill them.

Test first, then give the correct drug for the type of worms your bird may have.

Used this company when my Spar threw her crop up twice. They came highly recommended to me by a champion pigeon breeder. Gave them a call and they were really helpful and offered lots of advice. They specialise in birds so they know their stuff.
I dealt with local vet a few years back and unless they have done specialist bird training, in my experience, they really don't know the anatomy of hawks and such like.
This company deals in swab samples, vitamins, disinfectants etc everything you will need for your birds.
