First you will need a piece of plastic i use moulding plastic as it easy to work with and inexpensive, you can get from any craft shop.
The sizes i have shown are for a harris male or female this is just for example.
Draw a verticle line 35mm and a horizontal line 30mm and rad the bottom and sides cut shape out with a pair of snips. As in picture No1

2.Punch two holes in the top of the plastic for piece of leather, which will connecting to the deck feathers once finished.
See picture No2

3. Next you need to make 4 holes the top 2 holes need to be about 13mm from the bottom. The bottom 2 holes need to be 8mm below.
Once you punched the holes in to the plastic you need to join the holes by using a sharp knife as in picture No3
The plectrum is now ready for the telemetry mount.

4.To make the mount get two pieces of tube made of brass or stainless, i use stainless and hold them together in a vice.
Soldier the tubes together with silver solder.
You can see this in picture No4

Once you have soldiered the tube, leave to cool.
You need to measure the piece of tube the correct size of the slot which you have made in the plastic.
See picture No5

You will now end up with a pieces of tube soldiered together, this then needs one of the holes cutting in half as in piture No9

Once you have cut the part this then needs cleaning and removing all burrs.
This then can be pushed into the slot which you cut in the platic.
Once pushed in turn over and place in a vice with a piece of bar in side the hole which is left so it is not crushed.
Then you can knock over the material to a neat finish

Once you have cleaned the item up you need to fit the bell just do the same as if you was making a bewitt and punch a hole in piece of leather and feed through the loop on the bell, once through pull the 2 pieces of leather through the holes and you then are ready to fit to the bird.

Great stuff mate. Virtually the same as i do though i tend to use thick leather instead of plastic and i buy the tailmount piece! Also when attaching to the bird i use 2 cableties on each leather tab but DONT glue them to the feather. If the mount does ever really snag on something the mount should give and slide off before the tailfeathers do! In 10years doing it this way iv never had a deck feather pulled out.
