enjoyed the previous "name the raptor" game... thought I'd start a new one. Interesting picture I took at work over the summer. If you look real close you can see it (I think).

I would say a female harris.

I agree, it's a female harris hawk. if you take the picture and play with the levels on it you can see the outline of the white tail bar

nah... when my harris goes on a bit of a soar her primaries fan out. i could be wrong but i'd say it was a harris.

I would defo say its a female harris. I am going to try and tidy the whole thing up to see if i can get an even better pic (dont count on it!!)

I love it if some one sees you with a bird rom a kestrel to a goldie they always ask ...is dat a eagle mate....I just say yes and move off as quick as pos....

I could be completely wrong (i usually am). But as you took the pic and you live in canada is it a ferriginiuos or RT.


P.S. a picture where the colour could be made out would make life easy.

Nope, not a ferruginous, or a RT or an eagle. Couple of people were right - female HH. Took the picture while at work with a falconry center. She's coming down from height so thats why her tail isnt fanned. I know the colour was a bit off, wanted to pick something remotely challenging for you lot.

Anyone else got a pic?

Oh heck, just to make it from my side of the pond - dark morph ferruginous at night (or female harlan's redtail - hard to tell in this light :P)

oy knob head get off my pc....sorry lads that was my nephew keith....hes a dick but his hearts in the right place....if he doesnt stay off my pc itll be in the freezer....he thinks my kestrel is an eagle...dumb ass...hope you like the pic tho lads ...took it just before it nailed a roe deer...killed it outright....
