Guys,

I'm still pretty new to the forum and falconry and although I know I’m not ready to get a bird for quite some time I’m looking for a house at the moment, and obviously want enough space to be able to pursue falconry when I’m ready for the responsibility of my own bird. I doubt i'm going to be at that point for at the very very least a year, but i plan on having the house for a while.

So my question is, how much space should I be looking for in a garden, in doors for a room for storing food, kit, and weighing etc...might seem like a dumb question, but I don’t want to wind up trying to make do, I want to do it right.

erm, well a decent size avairy is about 12x8, then you may want a small shed for weighing and things. but you could always convert a part of the garage instead as a weighing room lol. you want it to be facing the morning sun too, so u gotta think about where u can put it and where it will face

once the bird is properly trained and tame...i prefer to use the largest aviary i can provide. nice for the bird in molt and on days when you cant take her out. you can always section parts off to make it smaller - not so easy to make it bigger. :)

Wellllllll......One of mine is 25ft x 10ft x 8ft high, mesh roof, solid back and ends and half of front and bars on the other half with internal shelters each end and can be partitioned across the middle if ness, another one is 12ft x 10ft x 7ft 6ins high then i have the night time quarters which is a 10ft x 8ft shed in the middle and then i have enclosed weatherings on the lawn for the day time, and then when i've got rid of the wifes chickens i'll have another one 22ft x 8ft x 7ft 6ins high just in case as you never know when you may need one....R'gards Rob.
