View Full Version : hunting permission
I was just looking on the airgun forum, and someone has got a form for the farmer to sign to give permission to shoot on his land. I was just wondering, is their any form that people can down loaded, and produce to farmers so we can hunt with what ever we want to hunt with, Be it Hawk, Ferret, or guns. I would like to know as this would save time getting written permission from land owners.
If theier is not such a form could someone on here make one, so we could down load and copy.

all you need is the name of the farmer...somthing like

signed

thats all you need...well you dont need that even, but it help when people come and stick their noses in.

i have got a list of questions etc...to be filled in once they say YES. I will try and find it because I found that useful....you can have one for each farmer and it has their name, number etc...and what they have and what and where you are alowed... stuff like that
I will start looking...I may be some time !
Thats what i was thinking of, if you had a form for each farmer or land owner, if anyone asked what you were doing on the land you could produce a signed document.
Saying what you are allowed to hunt and with what.
If anyone has any questions to ask land owners then please post and my partner will try and knock something up.

It's also useful to have a map showing the farm boundaries. This ensures that there is no confusion.

Here is some letters i have received of farmers in the past .
But in my experience you are better getting a survey map and high lighting the land as if the police come at least you know were your bounderys are. As you my find that a farmer being woke up by the police at 3.ooam will see his arse and you could loose your land. If i know i have had problems in the past with the police a phone call telling them you are on the land always does the trick and you can go about your day with confidence.
If you want i can show you a detailed permission which covers you for shotguns to live rounds.
i dont use written permission, if anyones asked they i will just tell them that (farmers name) said i could go on his land. farmers are busy enough without having to sign a wee letter. when other farmers do stop, they usually bring me to fields with more rabbits :D up to now anyway lol

This are letters which i have been given me by the Golf clubs and the farmers.
There are no standard letter as each one is different and tailored to the land in question.
I did put about using birds, but What type of gun And night shooting could be added with no probs. This is an actual form from the police the only difference is that i have took out hunting foxes and deer. I suppose if you do hunt deer you could always leave that in.

what if his names not john smith....I know not helpful..but ive had a great day today not hawking...i think a general form is a great idea....if every thing goes on there and you can get the landowner to delete as needed, the things he doesnt want you to do....great idea.....top marks...
So, come on all of you tell me what you would like on the form and i will try to do a draft.

doh...a quarry list..for a start ...some peeps dont want me to fly the pheasants but dont mind the rabbits...the odd accident as I explain can happen... erm the boundaries...oooh how many guests ...some peeps dont like me taking more than one guest on ....weather the dog is allowed... can I shoot fly my hawk use my ferrets... I state that telemetry will always be used in my letter as if they ask about it i can explain this and they know im not a pikey....even though I am...I think the lAND OWNER FEELS BETTER IF YOU ARE A MEMBER OF A CLUB sorry pressed caps lock...some guys like a dress code ..I wear cammo as it slims me down and I look sexy in it ...but I have been out with some lads who insist on no cammo...fair enough...im rambling as matt spar would spell it or wrambling if my heads not on right (bitchy)...errrrm thats it for now tara if I think of anything else Ill let you know...
It does say about dogs ferrets and guns, it also says about acreage, surely it will be uto the indervidual to find the bounderies. Like people have said, a good map with the bounderies marked out would be a good idea. If people wanted the exact quaries puttong on the form that wouldnt be a prob. We just need more input.

aye i thought the introduction of a 'getout' clause would be better as any signed document like that is deemed as legally binding so a land owner wouldn't feel trapped into the whole thing. seems to cover everything needed. altho up until now i've not got any written permission off the landowners i have, they just had a letter stating what i wanted to do and contact details given to them in person and it's all a friendly verbal agreement altho written permission would seem to be the way to go with all the antis about and the law poking their noses in, a friend of mine had his hawking day ruined because some coppers took him to the land owner to prove he had permission.
To many people wanting to spoil our fun, and a signed document could be produced if coppers did ever stop people. Just makes the whole thing more legal.

Great forms, just one thing no one has mentioned INSURANCE on all the land that me and netty do pest control on and will be flying our hh on the owner have given us a breif letter of permission which BASC ask me to get to cover us. And in return netty and I have given them a copy of our insurance details.
JOB DONE!
As far as game being hunted sometimes this will be unavoidable but we would offer to compensate them for the loss of the birds as we feel this would be the right thing to do!
