Not sure but have any of you ever seen LA Ink ,a reality show on TLC? This girl pictured owns this Tattoo (in Los Angeles) shop and is famous for her works,, Nope, I am not into tattoos, don't have one, never will but over Christmas I was sick and had nothing to do but watch TV and I watched this LA Ink Marathon for two days straight I was hooked on her art work,, hence the hood. Her name is Kat Von D hence the name of the hood...The portrait is totally dyed and is permanent, it will never crack nor peel.
I have amost caught up on orders, just finishing up 8 field eagle hoods and am FINALLY taking the time to make some hoods for my personal collection..

... while I admire your craftsmanship and being convinced that you are among the best hoodmakers around, this is simple and utter kitsch to me. What's next, Mickey Mouse or a pic of a Ferrari on my falcons head?! Are you sure that pays respect to the elegant, timeless and un-flashy beauty of a falcons head?

I would rather be hung up on my foreskin than putting a hood like that on my falcon!

Please go back to your more elegant styles of the past!

Regards,

Christian

Hello Christian, first thank you for your comments, and I respect them very much, no problem. We all have different opinions. "Ouch the foreskin"?,, jeez,, I think I would choose the hood,, but seriously when I have time I love to sit down and make hoods for me, showing what I love, it is a way of expressing my art and my Kat Von D hood was simply that. I am putting together a collection of Ken Hooke hoods, all with images that I find pleasingor interesting . The collection will show my Falconry Hoods as a different ART form, rather than putting paintings of quarry, or other raptors or other falconry related images on hoods which have been done for decades. There certainly is nothing wrong with it, I still enjoy looking and making those as well. I have been asked to put an exhibit together of my hoods on display in a few Art Galleries, which I am very excited about. This is just the first of 15.
Will everyone like them? Probably not, Will some like them? Probably? Will I like them? Yes, and they are for me.
Some like you would never put the hood on the bird, nor would they use my Paradise hoods , but I use one and I have several others that love them on a bird, We are all different.
Thank you for your post.I certainly will not give up my other styles of hoods.
