when u guys tether your hawks and falcons in the open on a outdoor perch, cats dont cause a problem do they, if any of the neighbours cats come into your garden, i know cats dont cause much problems when they come into your garden anyway but the sight of a bird ,does it not get them going or try to kill it
pls any info will be awesome

I could take a barn owl easy...it could use a knife or a gun or anyfink...I once battered a eagle just for lookin at me..so a puffy barn owl can look forward to right smackin...

the snowy would probably use a stunt man for the fight since its new found harry potter fame...as these have to be proficient in a martial art ..I would have to go with the snowies stunt man ....only my opinion...and I know it will cause a ruck
my neighbour had about 10 cats so i only leave rolf out in the lawn when im working about the garage or garden

not the cats that are a problem ...it is the ******* foxes... they are verywhere and as bold as brass....a bird bating away from a hungry mangey F U CKI N G B A S TAR D needs its nuts blowing off bring back fox hunting ginger ****....has no chance.... I went out to a pair of legs tied to the bow...no body...just legs... somebody had let the dogs in...they were always out with her...but one slip and I cant describe to you what it felt like....now I am so vigilant you wouldnt believe....the bird is watched constantly...

For a serious digest of what they've been saying:
Don't leave your bird in the open unattended or post your dog by the bird and don't leave em for longer than it takes to wiz.
I don't know if the owls need to be in the sun as much as the diurnal birds.
I've been taught that the diurnal birds need sunshine same as we do. The vit-D gets their preen glands going. I know when it's nice out and I set Robb on the lawn, once he warms up he does have a nice little preen.
I don't believe owls have preen glands but I feel the change of scenery leads to a better quality of life.

my avery is half covered and half open top with mesh, and my owl will sit in the sun quite often, saying that he sits in the rain as well, so he must like it..

My MRT met our cats during the first couple of weeks, the cat strolled up to have a look, "Flint" the MRT opened his wings full stretch, puffed up his chest and gave a "don't **** with me look" and the cat strolled off. Haven't bothered them since either on the fist or bow.
Predator meets predator with due respect !!
