put a peace of sticky tape over the slit on bells.
it stops the sound.

i have a friend in scotland who uses reamovable bells. he puts them on this birds legs when he goes out hawking.
The way he does it is by using VERY jess (Bewits) that he loops through the bells and then fits them on there leg and at the end of the hawk he take them of.
If it would help i could always post a picture os these. Let me know and i will make some to post a pic

jeez BB you have some techy neighbours, but real simple solution is to use thin piece of card / thick paper foled in 2 , slide it in the slot opf the bell .. hey presto no ring . other advantage is that bellss do not forget to be fitted when flying, & press studs will not be needed either ( springs tend to go on these) HTH

hear you go . sorry for the poor pics but i hate the camera.
1 pic. small flying jess
2 pic. pull jess through bell half way, punch hole in jess next to bell and pull jess through so the bell can not move
3 pic put around bird and put slit in over the button to close on birds leg.

Hope this helps and is clear. if not send me an e mail and i will see what i can do.
