i am sitting hear having a few beers (Ok alot of beer) i am a think about the different birds of prey i have seen. in captivaty and out in the wild and i was wondering what anyone else has seen or even have they got any picture. There i someone on hear who says they saw a snow owl on the Isle of Wight but i told them he was told it was a fluffy seagull.
i was just wondering what other REALLY and funderfull birds of prey people have seen or even flowen (pic would be great)

snowy owl on the isle of wight? why not. people arnt ready to believe what they see half of the time because the R S P B (everyone bow down) tells us that every thing is so rare, do people realise that there are nearly 2000 prs of hobbies in the uk ,there are rough legged buzzards breeding in the lakes, amongst other places,we have golden eagles nesting in northumberland and have had for over 30 yrs, there are several pairs of gyrs nesting regularly in the uk not just scotland either! the list is endless but the "authoraties" feel it safer to play this down for safety reasons. its the f***ing egg collectors who discover them all in the 1st place.i wont go on but most things are doing better than the"experts" would have us beleive because sensationalism and jobs depend on it?

I regulary or did in the summer went up a place called 'Eagle Heights' in Kent. I saw some fantastic birds and had the experience of a Eagle day where my wife and i flew a Bald Eagle , A Fish eagle, and my favourite the Marshall Eagle.
Stunning birds. We only had them fly to fist under supervision but it iwas amazing to have these wonderful Birds sitting there. The Fish Eagle weighed very heavy and the Mrs could only hold her for a minute or two.
The funniest and most intelligent birds we saw where the caracara . Mainly carrion eaters who lived on the Falkland islands and who would regulary go underground to get a meal like a ferret and pop up a minute later somewhere else..
One expedition to study them landed in the middle of a big flock of them and set up camp.
The helicopter pulled off, as they got the large tent put up the caracara moved in tearing the tent to bits eating all there food and even trying to fly away with cans.Their clothing where carried off and all in.... .3 minutes.
The helicopter still in sight was called back and the expedition abandoned. One member who was getting changed at the time the flock attacked was picked up in his pants and socks and his bobble hat clutching a roll of Bog roll:lol:
I see quite a few Buzzards around kent and Kestrels and regulary see sparrowhawks take sparrows or starlings of my bird table.
I really must move that Bird table closer to cover:twisted:

yepp barbary boy, you are so god d*** right!! I think the biggest money makers of the backs of birds of prey are organisations like RSPB and suchlike, why admit that certain raptors are not thretened if you make money out of the propaganda? Anyway, saw a immature female spar today with a pigeon in her feets, more ore less crached on the bank on the side of the road, pigeon a bit heavy I think, got to watch her really close (closest I ever been to a wild raptor, excluding injured ones) for a few seconds ,before I most have moved and emitiatly scared her off, left her pigeon :( was going to write about that anyway, and then I found this thred, excellent, one of the best sights I seen actually!!
